Matt was on a Boy Scout camping trip for the weekend and when he got back in the afternoon, we went to look at a puppy we were thinking about buying. We drove out to Chapin and fell in love with a 5 pound, 14 week old morkie (maltese-yorkie mix) and ended up taking her home. We named her Béla Rose Coppel. :)

I woke up in the middle of the night around 2:30 am and felt like I just drank 3 Red Bulls. I knew I was getting pretty late on my period, but didn't think much of it since I'm not always the most regular anyways. I was expecting it to come, but I was also experiencing some symptoms that weren't normal to my pms. I had a pregnancy test in the cabinet so I figured, what the heck, and took it around 3 am. When I saw the result I nearly fell off the toilet. I started shaking like a leaf and made my way over to the bed and turned on the light. Of course, Matt wondered what the heck I was doing and what I was holding and telling him to look at. When it finally registered he just looked at me and was like "No!" and I shook my head yes and again he said "No!" I kept shaking my head and he said "Are you serious?!?" I told him I was pretty sure I was, and then he thought I was playing some kind of joke on him. (Since Heather found out she was pregnant only three days earlier he thought I'd taken her test to play a prank on him.) Needless to say, we didn't end up sleeping much. I think I got about 3 hours.
Later in the day we went over to Matt's dad's house with Béla and told him the news. We also told his sister, Laura, when she came over. We were all hungry so we went out to lunch at Vella's then when we got back we called Matt's Aunt Laura and Uncle Randy to let them know because we were anxious to hear their reaction. :) We decided not to call my family because we wanted to tell them in person, so we will go down to Bluffton this weekend with two very big surprises - Béla and Baby C!
